Financial Wellness Peers (FWPs) promote financial wellness through hosting booths, sharing financial resources, and hosting workshops. FWPs strive to provide information and encouragement to students in a fun and approachable way to help them develop the motivation, skills, and confidence to manage their money throughout their degree and beyond.
Undergraduate or graduate students from any faculty at UBC can apply. Preference is given to students entering their 2nd year and beyond.
Typically, there are 8 to 10 positions available each year.
The Peer Programs Program Advisors would like to recognize that being able to participate in student leadership opportunities is a privilege. The weekly commitment for each Peer Program varies in length but may not be possible for some students who need accommodations based on chronic health conditions, disabilities, mental health, and/or other lived experiences. If you have specific accommodations for your ability to participate and contribute to the program, please connect with the Program Advisor to discuss what accommodations can be made for your particular situation.
The time commitment for the role is 4 to 5 hours per week. For mandatory time requirements, please review the position description.
